The management of the affairs of the Association is vested in the Board which includes the following members :

The OARS SA Constitution indicates that :
“The Board shall arrange and control all the affairs of the Association except for matters which under the Constitution must be dealt with at a General Meeting.”
Chair
At the OARS SA Annual General Meeting held in October 2011 Ms Meredith Newman was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the OARS SA Board for the 2011-12 financial year. This is the seventh year that Meredith that Meredith has been unanimously elected as Chair of the Board. Meredith has been a continuous member of the Board of OARS SA for 17 years and has served with distinction during that time.
Meredith has worked in the community for many years, holds a Masters Degree in Social Work, and teaches Social Work in between looking after her two young children.
Meredith is a passionate advocate for the needs and rights of prisoners and offenders.
