Australasian Centre for Police Research

The Australasian Centre for Police Research was established in 1983 by way of an Intergovernmental Agreement between Police Ministers at that time with a mandate to coordinate, stimulate, sponsor and, where necessary, undertake research on behalf of policing agencies.    The Centre is funded one-third by the Commonwealth and two-thirds by the State and Territory police agencies, according to the number of personnel in their organisations. In 1993, New Zealand Police became an associate member of the ACPR and presently contributes a 25% pro rata share.
